Hello Friends!
I know Christmas has come and gone and we are probably not wanting to talk or read about pretty twinkling lights. However I was trying to figure out what to write about for my first blog and saw pictures from this event ad thought I would share my experience with you. These are all my opinions and I was not persuaded or paid to attend the event or review this event. This post includes affiliate links at no cost to you. It all started as I was scrolling through my feed and saw an event for Enchant Washington, D.C. It looked absolutely magical. My first thought was there is no way it would be like that in person. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen something online that looked amazing. Got my hopes up all for it to be a total flop and waste of my time. The little kid in me was way too excited not to go and I had to check it out. We waited until after Christmas because the tickets were WAY too expensive. To be honest it wouldn’t have been worth full price. So I gathered my family and off we went to check this place out.
We got there when it first opened and I’m glad we did because it was getting a little crowded as the night went on. When you walked into the Nationals Stadium they had all kinds of little stands set up, like a German Christmas Market. We went to all the little shops and out of nowhere it started snowing like it does in the movies! Before I get too far into this post it was an Hallmark Channel event so everything was perfect.
Once we finished on the upper level we went down onto the field. This was where the ice skating rink and the maze were. You were given a little card before you entered the maze and there were stars hidden in the maze. As you walked through you had to find the stamp that matched the star. After the card was full you could fill out your information and then turn it in for a chance to be in a Hallmark movie. Unfortunately we forgot to turn ours in, so our chance of becoming T.V. stars was short lived. The maze was the most magical thing there! Everywhere you looked there were tiny twinkling lights. As you wandered through the maze, beautiful lit up displays waited at every turn. The beauty and awe made you feel like a little kid again.
After taking every picture possible and finally making it through the maze we made our way over to the ice skating rink. There was a really long line and we were getting cold and decided to skip the skating and walk around to check out the entertainment. They had singers, carolers, jugglers and a Santa. For those with little ones they also had a cute play are and coloring spot for them. I would definitely be going back so we can do it again. I still wouldn’t pay full price, the tickets were $75 for one ticket and we are a family of four. That does not include your parking either.
If this event ever makes it to a city near you definitely check it out!
With love,
Jamie
